Howard Davis
AGE: 64
TITLES: Executive director, Kids First Cast, Inc.
Owner, Howard’s Tackle Shoppe, 1707 Garrity Blvd., Nampa
VEHICLE: The Bassmobile
ON FISHING: “I have always had fun with the tackle shop and the people. But the kids are where it’s at.”

Driving a bass-themed van and owning a high-volume tackle shop don’t make a person a fishing fanatic, as Howard Davis has been proving for nearly two decades.

You rarely find him fishing alone, or with one or two experienced anglers. His passion is introducing many people — youths in particular — to the sport. He has been taking kids and their parents fishing for nearly two decades.

“I enjoy fishing, but I don’t fish per se,” said Davis, 64. “I have fun with all of this. I have always had fun with the tackle shop and the people. But the kids are where it’s at.”
